Original onsemi MC34063ADR2 is a switching-regulator IC in narrow-body SOIC-8 (150 mil). With external components, the MC34063A family can be used for step-down (buck), step-up (boost) or inverting DC/DC converters. The manufacturer's electrical family datasheet specifies a 3–40 V supply range, an internal switch rated up to 1.5 A peak current, and oscillator operation up to 100 kHz. The 1.5 A figure is a switch rating, not a guaranteed continuous output current.
The reel label identifies the exact MC34063ADR2 suffix without G, date code 0407, The current datasheet ordering list highlights G variants; it does not establish that this older non-G reel is lead-free or RoHS compliant. Do not use it in a compliance-critical product without separate documentation.
