Original STMicroelectronics SM6T36A is a unidirectional transient-voltage suppressor (TVS) in a two-terminal SMB/DO-214AA surface-mount package. The manufacturer's specification lists 600 W peak pulse power (10/1000 µs), 30.8 V reverse standoff, 34.2–37.8 V breakdown and a maximum 49.9 V clamping voltage at 12 A peak pulse current. The 36 V designation is not its continuous working voltage. The cathode is identified by a band.
