Bring the magic of Software Defined Radio to your retro-inspired projects with the PhaseLoom SDR Shield – a quadrature sampling detector SDR frontend designed to work with the 6502-based 65uino (and any microcontroller with I²C support).
This assembled board gives you a head start on experimenting with SDR, IQ sampling, and radio-frequency design — all without the hassle of soldering fine-pitch components.
?? Note: Pin headers are not mounted or included, giving you flexibility to choose the orientation and connector style that fits your project.
Quadrature Sampling Detector Frontend Tayloe-style commutating mixer with improved noise immunity and differential signal handling.
SI5351 Clock Generator 3-channel programmable oscillator with 90° phase offset capability. Controlled via I²C.
HF Coverage Works from audio frequencies up to ~150 MHz (depending on filtering). Great for experimenting with ham bands, shortwave listening, and SDR fundamentals.
65uino Compatible Designed as an Arduino-style shield for the 6502-based 65uino, but also works with Arduino, ESP32, STM32, and other I²C-capable hosts.
Open Hardware Schematics, firmware, and support resources are freely available — build on it, hack it, or extend it.
1 × PhaseLoom SDR Shield (fully assembled SMT parts)
Gold-plated copper RF traces and SMA connectors
Preloaded SI5351 ready to be configured via I²C
Pin headers (mount your own straight, angled, or stacking headers as needed)
Antenna, bandpass filters, or ADC — you’ll want these for real-world reception
65uino or other host board
Retro computing fans who want to push the 6502 into modern RF territory
Amateur radio experimenters looking for a compact SDR frontend
Electronics hobbyists who want a ready-made platform for exploring IQ sampling, aliasing, and GNURadio
This is a prototype development board — performance may vary, and experimentation is encouraged!
All boards sold have been hand-corrected for early-phase pinout errors.
Open-source hardware files and firmware are on GitHub.
