Philips P80C31SFPN is an 80C31: the ROMless CMOS version of the classic 8051 (MCS-51) 8-bit microcontroller. The program runs from an external EPROM or flash of up to 64 KB, which makes it a natural choice for retro and hobby builds with a swappable 27C EPROM.
It has 128 bytes of internal RAM, 32 I/O lines, two 16-bit timer/counters, a full-duplex serial port (UART) and five interrupt sources. It is instruction-compatible with the whole 8051 family, so standard 8051 assemblers and C compilers such as SDCC can be used.
The photograph shows one of the actual chips (date code 0041); it has been cropped and exposure-adjusted. The speed and temperature grade of the SFPN suffix is given in the Philips datasheet.
