The Motorola MC3340P is an electronic attenuator in an 8-pin plastic DIP package for signal and volume control. Attenuation can be controlled by a DC voltage or an external variable resistor; Motorola specifies up to 80 dB attenuation at frequencies up to 1 MHz.
