74HC273 — Octal D-type flip-flop with common clear
Eight D flip-flops in a 20-pin DIP, sharing one clock and one master reset.
Latches a whole byte at once on the clock edge, which makes it the usual choice for an output port — the CPU writes a byte, and the 74HC273 holds it steady until the next write.
